This website sets no cookies of its own. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel, no session recording, no fingerprinting, no profile of you.

There is no consent banner, because nothing here requires consent.

Two things do reach beyond the page, and both are described below in full: a strictly necessary security cookie the hosting provider may set, and a request your browser makes to Google's font servers for the two typefaces this site uses.

Australia has no separate cookie consent regime. There is no local equivalent of the European ePrivacy Directive and no statutory requirement to show a banner before setting a cookie. A banner on an Australian website is a design choice, and often an imported one, rather than compliance with anything.

What does apply is the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Where a cookie or a similar technology collects information about a reasonably identifiable individual, that information is personal information and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to it: APP 3 on collection, APP 5 on notification, APP 6 on use and disclosure, APP 11 on security.

So the questions worth answering are whether we told you, whether the thing is necessary, and whether it is used only for what we said. This page answers all three.

If the General Data Protection Regulation or the UK GDPR applies to you, the relevant rule is that storage which is strictly necessary to provide a service you requested does not require consent. Everything listed on this page falls in that category, which is why there is nothing to click.

A consent banner exists to collect permission for storage that is not strictly necessary. There is none of that here, so a banner would be asking you to agree to nothing.

That is worse than leaving it out for two reasons. It trains people to dismiss a control that matters on other sites, and it implies this site is doing something it is not, which is a small dishonesty sitting inside a compliance widget.

If analytics or advertising is ever added here, we will ask before it loads, refusing will be exactly as easy as accepting, and this page will be updated before the change goes live rather than afterwards.

That is the complete list. We set nothing ourselves, neither cookie is readable by us as an identifier of you, and neither is used for measurement, advertising or personalisation.

• No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Matomo, Umami or any other analytics.
• No advertising, no advertising cookies and no advertising identifiers.
• No Meta pixel, no LinkedIn Insight tag, no TikTok pixel, no conversion tracking of any kind.

• No local storage, session storage or IndexedDB written by our code.
• No canvas or font fingerprinting, and no attempt to recognise a returning visitor.
• No A or B testing, and no personalisation of the content you are shown.

Open the Application and Network panels in your browser's developer tools and you will find exactly what this page describes. That is the intended way to check it, and it is more reliable than believing a page that says it is not tracking you.

This site loads a single script, pipette.js, and it does two things.

• It arms the navigation toggle on small screens. Until the script runs, the navigation is an ordinary visible list, so a blocked script leaves every link reachable rather than hiding the menu behind a button that does nothing.
• It fades sections in as they scroll into view, and it does not do that at all if your system asks for reduced motion. Nothing is faded out until the script has established that it can fade it back in, so no content can be stranded invisible.

The script stores nothing, sends nothing, and reads nothing about you. It is short enough to read in a minute and the link above serves the actual file.

Two typefaces load from Google Fonts, at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Making that request tells Google's servers your IP address, your user agent and the page that referred you. Google states that the Fonts service sets no cookies and that the requests are not used for advertising or profiling.

We do not receive anything from it. There is no account, no measurement and no report.

Self hosting the fonts would remove the request entirely and it is on the list of things to fix. Until then this is a description rather than an omission, and blocking those two hosts leaves the site perfectly readable in whatever serif and monospace your system provides.

Every web server records the requests it receives. Our hosting provider logs the IP address, the timestamp, the path, the user agent and the response code. Nothing is stored on your device by that, so it is not a cookie, but it is personal information and it belongs in an honest account of what visiting this site involves.

Those logs sit with the provider on its own cycle, currently under 30 days. They are used for delivering the site and defending it from abuse. We do not export them, do not join them to anything, and have no way to search them for an individual.

Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete them, and inspect exactly what a site has set. Blocking the two named above may mean Cloudflare challenges you more often, but this site will work.

• Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies and Site data.
• Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
• Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
• Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.

A content blocker that stops the Google Fonts request will also work, and the page is designed to degrade to system fonts without breaking its layout.

Both signals are honoured, which is easy to promise here because there is nothing to switch off. If either signal is present, no additional storage or processing occurs. If neither is present, that is also true.

We say so anyway. A site that ignores these signals and stays quiet about it has made a choice it would rather you did not notice, and the absence of a statement is itself information.

Anything that stores information on your device beyond what is listed here will be added to this page, with a new effective date, before it goes live rather than after. Where the law that applies to you requires consent, we will ask first, and refusing will not degrade the site.

The most likely change is the good one: self hosting the fonts, which would remove the only outbound request on the page and shorten this notice.
